Dr. Tayfun Çataltepe

Tayfun Çataltepe graduated from Boğaziçi University, Department of Electrical Engineering with honors and received his Master’s degree from Michigan Technological University and Ph.D. degree from University of California, Los Angeles. He worked as a Research and Development Engineer at Bell Laboratories between 1990 and 1998, after which he was responsible for managing IP Network and Service Planning projects at AT&T between 1998 and 2003.He was the Deputy General Manager in charge of Technical Operations at Aycell (mobile operator) between 2003-2004. After the merger of Aycell with another mobile operator, he undertook the reponsibility as Executive Vice President in charge of network operations for the new company AVEA (Turk Telekom Mobile) between 2004 and 2006. From 2006 to 2007 Dr. Çataltepe served as the senior manager for Telecom Sector in the Post M&A Corporate Integration Services of Ernst & Young East European Region.

He worked as Chief Officer at Turkcell from 2007 until 2015 where he was responsible for various functions including corporate strategy, international M&A, wholesale and regulatory affairs. Then Tayfun Cataltepe joined Turk Telekom Group as senior advisor to CEO where he managed network capex and opex efficiency projects between 2016-2018.

Çataltepe has extensive experience in the telecommunications sector, covering almost all branches of telecommunications (voice, data, IP, cable, wireless, GSM), including positions from engineering, R&D, to senior executive in technical operations, regulations, strategy and business development.

He adopts a result and bottom line oriented management approach.

His specializes in  telecom operations, services, regulation, mergers and acquisitions and post-merger integration, and he is a citizen of both Turkey and U.S.A.
